Ilhabela, one of the most fascinating destinations in Brazil, will be the stage for our Photography Retreat – Photography with Soul. More than a technical workshop, this is an immersive experience, where photography becomes a means of expression, self-knowledge and connection with nature.
With each click, we will explore not only the aesthetics of the image, but also the emotion it conveys. Photography here is not just about technique, but about perception, feeling and intuition. We will awaken a more sensitive eye, understand light in a poetic way and capture images that tell stories and awaken sensations.

ITINERARY
1st day 09/05/2025 Friday (J)
All participants will be welcomed at the facilities of Reserva da Ilha, where we will be based until 5:00 p.m. The fun begins. We will take a brief photo outing on the beach near the lodge for our first photos, focusing only on techniques and processes. At 7:00 p.m., a delicious opening dinner and briefing on the Workshop will be served, followed by a well-deserved rest.
2nd day 05/10/2025 Saturday (B, L, D)
On this first day, we will wake up very early and practice meditation to find balance and connection. Then we will walk calmly to the beach near our hotel to photograph the sunrise, now with much more presence and connection. Then we will return for a delicious breakfast.
Rest of the morning and early afternoon free to practice yoga, enjoy the inn and the beach.
In the middle of the afternoon, we will head west to practice sunset photography. At the end of the day, we will return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and a brief meeting to discuss the experience and the results of the photography captured on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
3rd day 05/11/2025 Sunday (C)
The next morning we will wake up a little later for yoga practice and our delicious coffee. Then we will hike to a beautiful waterfall in the dense forest for some composition and long exposure practices. Return to the lodge and end of our retreat.

My name is Renato Machado
photographer and author of books Secret Landscapes of Southern Brazil and Canyons and Balloons, he has dedicated himself to photography for over 10 years.
During this time, he traveled through the Sahara Desert, Egypt, Norway, Easter Island, the Polynesian Archipelago, however It was in 2015, after a trip to Patagonia, that his passion became a serious matter in his life, and he specialized in landscape photography. Born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Renato has participated in international competitions such as the Sony World Photography Award and Zeiss Photography Award 2016, in addition to having photos published in National Geographic and Fotografe Melhor.
