In this exclusive itinerary, we will explore the interior of Scotland, passing through mountains, paths, bridges and wonderful castles. We will photograph the beauty of the famous Isle of Skye, one of the world's photography icons.


Get ready for days and nights of hunting for the most beautiful compositions. The experience goes far beyond photography. The beauty of this country combines beautiful landscapes, culture, architecture and lots of history. An unforgettable and unparalleled experience.

This is where the great adventure happens. The Castles of Scotland Expedition is dedicated to those who love nature and history, whether they are photographers or not.

Target Audience: Interested in landscape photography, Northern Lights,  wildlife, astrophotography, travel and nature.


1st day    11/16/2025  Sunday  -  Edinburgh

Everyone will be met at Edinburgh airport at a pre-defined time for transfer to our hotel.
Check-in at the hotel and then our welcome dinner and briefing about the photographic expedition.  Afterwards, everyone goes for a well-deserved rest.

2nd day  11/17/2025  Monday - Highlands Path 

After a delicious coffee, everyone should check out of the hotel as the great adventure will begin. We will continue towards the Highlands, but first a quick stop to photograph the beautiful bridge in Edinburgh,  The Forth Bridge. Next, we will head towards the interior of Scotland, having as our first destination the wonderful Linlithgow Palace, where we will look for the best angle for the best composition. Next we headed to Stirling Castle, our first castle in this great adventure. 
According to our program, we headed to the exotic and exuberant towers of The National William Wallace Monument. To close the day, two beautiful castles. First Doune Castle then Kilchurn Castle. We closed this first night for a well-deserved rest and dinner in Oban.

3rd day  11/18/2025  Tuesday - Medieval Castles and Highlands 

We will leave before dawn heading to the famous and exuberant Stalker Castle. In this place we will look for the best compositions at dawn. Then we headed to Glencoe. Next we go to Glen Estive where we will photograph a beautiful valley, streams, waterfall and century-old bridges.  We ended  our second day  with dinner and overnight in the city of  Mallaig.

4th day 11/19/2025  Fourth - Isle of Skye

Right after breakfast, we continued our journey to take the ferry to the Isle of Skye, one of the most beautiful places to photograph in the world. Our first attraction will be Neist Point Lighthouse . In addition to the exotic lighthouse, we will have several options to photograph the cliffs with their beauty. Next we head to Fairy Glen where we will discover and photograph a little of the history of this place and its monoliths. We headed to Quiraing and  Kilt Rock to photograph mountains, cliffs and a wonderful waterfall with its waters flowing into the sea. 
We end this day with dinner and overnight in Portree.

5th day 11/20/2025  Farm  - Isle of Skye

We will leave before dawn towards the wonderful Old Man of Storr rock formations. After dawn we stopped for a coffee and snack and headed to Sligachan bridge. Then, still on the Isle of Skye, we will photograph another exotic castle,  Eilean Donan Castle. After taking a deep breath and wanting more, we headed to Invermoriston Falls, Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus and Caledonian Canal. We ended this wonderful day with dinner and overnight in the city of Inverness.

6th day 11/21/2025  Friday - Bluar Falls and Edinburgh

After breakfast we head to Clava Cairn where our first photographic stop of the day will be. Next we go to Culloden Battlefield and Bluar  Falls. Before heading back to Edinburgh we stop at the wonderful The Hermitage and the historic Dunkeld cathedral. Return to Edinburgh for dinner and overnight.

7th day 11/22/2025  Saturday - Edinburgh

After breakfast, free morning to visit and photograph some points of charming Edinburgh such as Edinburgh Castle, Ross Fountain, Dean Village, Calton Hill and Arthur Seat. Right after lunch we finished the expedition with check-out at the hotel    and transfer to the airport at a pre-defined time.

My name is Renato Machado

photographer and author of  books  Secret Landscapes of Southern Brazil and Canyons and Balloons, he has dedicated himself to photography for over 10 years.

During this time, he traveled through the Sahara Desert, Egypt, Norway, Easter Island, the Polynesian Archipelago, however  It was in 2015, after a trip to Patagonia, that his passion became a serious matter in his life, and he specialized in landscape photography. Born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Renato has participated in international competitions such as the Sony World Photography Award and Zeiss Photography Award 2016, in addition to having photos published in National Geographic and Fotografe Melhor.

Cancellation Policy

To confirm the expedition, a minimum number of 6 participants will be required. If the contractor withdraws, on the trip,  the deposit amount will not be refundable. Confirming the group, the signal value will be deducted from the input.

If the trip does not take place due to force majeure, a new date suggestion will be presented. If the contractor is not available, the amount paid to date will be fully refunded.


If the registrant withdraws, he/she must formalize in writing  to email


Other variations to the cancellation policy will be handled as follows:

- Up to  90 (ninety) days before the trip  payment of  down payment  of 40% (forty percent);

- More than 45 (forty-five) days  and less than 90 (ninety) days of the trip fine of 60% (sixty percent) of the contracted amount;

- Less than 45 (forty-five) days before the start of the trip will not provide the right to a refund of the amounts paid.
